The initial meeting of the project MUSIC TO DECREASE INEQUALITY AT SCHOOL took place in Barcelos in 07-11 of December 2015, and was a fantastic experience. We all got to know different sorts of music from the different countries involved and were delighted by the beautiful and powerful voices of some of the participants, as well as by the maestry of some students and teachers playing pieces on the piano, the flute, or the guitar. This was also the beginning of new friendships, which were strengthened in subsequent meetings and persist to this day. Moreover it proved that regardless of the diversity of languages and cultures, music really is a common ground, a universal language capable of uniting all of us.

Our Project during the Two Years’ Cooperation

Our project enlightened the importance of music to reduce differences among students. During the two years’ collaboration, every Partner agreed that music is the right means to foster equality eliciting emotions and feelings which are common to everyone all over the world. Music was considered a bridge among European countries linking them in a single UNION which spoke a single language. The six schools worked together and gathered under the motto “MUSIC UNITES”. All of the participant pupils learnt and performed music which was the main aim of the activities. All those engaged in the mobilities rehearsed and sang a “common song”.  On the last day of each mobility a concert was held. The concert, “MUSIC UNITES EUROPE”, was the top of point of peace friendship, team spirit and European Unity. Music project

The students and teachers of Vilnius J. Tallat-Kelpša conservatory are participating in the international project of Erasmus+ programme "Music to decrease inequality at school". This year, in April, the student group exchange programme took place in Lithuania and it was attended by students and teachers from schools of Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Lithuania. In getting ready for the meeting in Vilnius, the students along with the teachers prepared presentations on classical music, the most famous composers and the performers as well as  on the education system of their countries. The participants of the programme assembled in the Vilnius conservatory. The students of each country performed the concert programme which had specially been prepared for the meeting at home. Erasmus+ Project gave so many beautiful things to my life. In the name of music contributed a great deal to me. I've never sung in front of the crowded group of people before. I did it in a foreign country. It was a great experience for me. Meeting, socializing , chatting, having fun with, and singing  was very exciting. So it was so hard to leave them. I would love to have them all as a guest here in my own house and in my country one day. Without a doubt I'd go again if I had the chance to go. DERYA CAKIR
